The society aims to:                                     


    • Support anaesthesia in the developing world through appropriate training, material and equipment


    • Promote the education of anaesthetists in less affluent environments


    • Act as an advocate in dealings with governments and agencies involved in anaesthesia and resuscitation overseas


    • Maintain a network of appropriately trained and experienced anaesthetists in order to assist members and advise those intending to work in the developing world

 
ORBIS

ORBIS , the humanitarian Flying Eye Hospital, is operating around the world in a DC-10 aircraft.

They are looking for a volunteer anesthesiologist for their mission in Nigeria (July 14-25). Experience in neonatal/pediatric anesthesia and/or ophthalmic blocks appreciated but not mandatory.

Anaes for developing countries

The University of Oxford "Anaesthesia for Developing Countries" course is again being held in two centres this year.

Oxford (July 18th 2008), Uganda (Nov 2nd - 7th 2008).
